Bend your knees: This is probably one of the most important things in skating, which is why it is at the top of the list. A lot of skaters do not think about this, but in order to roll properly and to stop quickly, a healthy amount of knee bend is key. It places your body weight directly over the skate you are standing on, giving you control over your skate while it rolls. Mastering this teaches a skater to roll rather than just walk on top of their skates.
